Eddie M’s Seafood was established in late 2022 by Jordan Mazzetta through his acquisition of the Morey’s Seafood International Distribution Division in Plymouth, Minnesota.
The original Morey Fish Company was founded in 1937 by Ed Morey, which is where our name “Eddie M’s” comes from. It is in part an homage to Ed and is representative of the commitment we have to the history and reputation that has long been the hallmark of this business and the seafood industry.
In 2019, the facility that now houses Eddie M's Seafood was completed. It is a state-of-the-art, 65,000 square foot processing and distribution center. This division was acquired by Jordan Mazzetta and was rebranded as Eddie M’s Seafood in late 2022.
With investment in the processing infrastructure, Eddie M’s is now far more than a seafood distribution company! We are a custom fish and seafood processor with value added production and packaging capabilities, as well as expansive cold storage capabilities. Our full line of fresh and frozen products can satisfy the fish and seafood needs of any retail or food service establishment.

Eddie M’s has the expertise to custom process fresh fish or previously frozen fish as our clients desire. We cut whole fish into fillets or steaks, fillets into portions, boning, skinning; we can handle it all with our team of seafood experts! Need information or materials to help merchandise your fish and seafood? We can help with that as well. Eddie M’s sources fish and seafood from around the globe from a carefully cultivated group of suppliers, many of whom we have dealt with for decades. We value and cherish our long business relationships with our suppliers! We use a strict standard and set of expectations for quality and wholesomeness and reinforce our standards with our HACCP program and our BRCGS Certification program. We believe that fresh seafood should be an integral part of the diet of today’s consumers, so we go to great depths to ensure that we always have access to the absolute highest quality fish and seafood available.

Refrigerated Specialties include Smoked Fish, Canned Crab Meat, Pickled Herring, Seafood Dips, Salads and Spreads, just to name a few.
Our valued added offerings include custom cut fish fillets, bulk marinated or spiced fish portions and shrimp skewers, fresh fish kabobs, and case ready products in tray packs and/or with 10K OTR oxygen permeable packaging. We also have case-ready cooked shrimp or surimi trays for retail.
All of our processing is done in one of our specially designed climate-controlled processing rooms. All our products are stored at the appropriate and optimal temperatures to assure food safety and the longest shelf life possible.

While the Eddie M’s Seafood name is pretty new, we are part of a long history of seafood in Minnesota; a history dating back as far as 1937! As the former processing and distribution division of Morey’s Seafood International, we have deep roots in the seafood industry. Most of our team came from the original company and several of them can boast as much as 30 years in the seafood industry! This organization has proudly serviced clientele in the Upper Midwest for decades, consistently providing the highest quality fish and seafood products to those clients with a level of customer service that is above reproach. We are as proud of our clients as we are of our team! We take care of all of them like family!
Eddie M’s has a full in-house Quality Assurance Team that enforces our strict food safety guidelines and documents every step in our quality assurance program. We are certified as a BRCGS Food Safety facility under the Global Food Safety Initiative and operate under a strict HACCP program within that. We are innovative in food safety as well. One example is our use of ozonated water to aid in preventing bacteria issues in our fresh fish products. We also use ozone-treated water in the sanitation process for our processing rooms and other product contact areas. This helps promote cleanliness and reduces the use of chemicals that would otherwise be used. Food Safety is one of our top priorities!
Eddie M’s is a proud member of the National Fisheries Institute (NFI), the trade association for the seafood industry. This allows us to be involved and informed about what may impact the industry and allows us to help to assure the future of that industry. We are proponents of sustainability and are committed to the preservation of the oceans and all other sources of fish and seafood for future generations!
Our certifications include our BRCGS Food Safety Certification and Chain of Custody Certification with both the Marine Stewardship Council, (MSC) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, (ASC).
Our home is our 65,000 square foot processing and distribution center in Plymouth, Minnesota, but our most valued asset is our team of incredible people! We are fortunate to have some of the best fish and seafood experts in the Upper Midwest working as a part of Eddie M’s team!
Our home is a premier facility, custom designed for the specifics of fresh and frozen seafood processing, storage, and distribution. All our processing areas are temperature controlled and we have multiple processing areas that can be configured to support whatever the specifications require. We have bulk packaging areas for value added products as well as an area that houses our 10K OTR Skin Packaging equipment. We even have a “clean room” for packaging ready to eat products. We top this off with multiple refrigerated staging and storage areas and an expansive freezer warehouse, all staffed by our dedicated and professional team; the Eddie M’s Seafood Family!
